Brothers Mato and Blago Šimić of Grude are to remain in custody until mid-July this year. The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN) learned that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) had accepted the proposal from the BiH Prosecutor s Office to extend the jail time for the brothers for another two months.
The Šimićs how to food photography were arrested this April on suspicion of leading an organized crime group that had smuggled drugs from BiH to Croatia from 2008 onwards. According to the intel gathered by the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency, the two planned to kill Zoran Galić, the police commissionaire of West Herzegovina Canton. The state prosecutor Saša Sarajlić, who was in charge of the operation, decided neither to interrogate the suspects nor to extend the custody time limit despite police warnings that the Šimićs can harm the investigation, tamper with witnesses and alter evidence once they re released.
The Federation Police Authority has filed a complaint against the prosecutor how to food photography Sarajlić with the BiH High Judicial and Prosecutorial how to food photography Council. Among the records that the police had attached to the complaint was a document in which Sarajlić stated that he made a decision to release the suspects after consulting with Nenad Šaleda, a judge conducting pretrial procedure.
