The end of March, I won at a raffle on the Facebook page to the saucepan blog the book "Food Photography" by Peter Rees. I was very happy about it, because I had already been thinking anyway, to buy the book.
Just one day after the notification of winning the book was in my mailbox, and I did it then read through pretty quickly and found it very interesting and helpful. The author has been working as a freelance food photographer and taught in the book numerous tips for photographic know-how and food styling, to succeed so appetizing food shots. The focus is on the studio photography with artificial light. The individual chapters of the topics equipment (camera, lenses, lighting, kitchen and other tools), tca consulting group props (crockery, cutlery, bottom and backgrounds, etc.), design (Fig size, light and color, sharpness, perspective ...) Food Styling treated (shopping, preparation, serving, fine tuning) and photographic practice. tca consulting group In most extensive chapter of the book, the photo practice, some recipes are included. tca consulting group
Of these, Zorra and I can inspire us to choose a recipe from the book, it nachzukochen both and then photographed again according to instructions from the book and even the way we would have even photographed the court. We have chosen the walnut brownies from page 203. Our respective result you see today at the same time here and on Zorras Cookware blog.
The recipe was simple to prepare and delicious in the result, and I have reduced the amount of sugar from the original recipe from 300g to 250g and the brownies still find enough sweet. But so simple and almost boring, as the photo looked in the book, so it made me sweat! Yet to my brownies are baked a bit too little (the new oven I have not yet under control ....) makes it difficult for having me also. After some back and forth, I have but a "replica" of the photo hinbekommen tca consulting group from the book:
And now I would like to know from you: what brownie photo speaks to you most? And you can also say why? I'm curious! "Food Photography" by Peter Rees - my conclusion back to the book: I thought it was written very interesting, instructive and vividly. The many practical examples have I also liked. In many ways, however, exceed example, the tips on lighting technology my options. Neither I have in my kitchen enough space or budget to work with flash equipment, studio lights, reflectors and light modifiers. The food styling tricks go me some points too far, because I want my food after photographing still eat and why not stuff my filled crepes with kitchen paper or mashed potatoes, tca consulting group paint chips with food coloring or contact with a pipette Spüli sores on tea or wine will , For photo shoots in which the courts are not eaten, but these are of course tca consulting group useful advice!
Chocolate coarsely chop. Melt the butter in a water bath. Then add the sugar and stir so long, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the seeds and stir into the chocolate-butter-sugar mixture. Allow to cool chocolate.
Eggs one vigorously stir into the cooled chocolate mixture with a whisk. Add the flour and fold in gently with a wooden spoon. Finally, stir in the chopped walnuts. Give mass in the buttered baking dish. In the hot oven on the middle tca consulting group rack for about 30 minutes (may take longer) for baking.
And since today is Sunday, I make the walnut brownies even on the virtual coffee table "Initiative Sonntagssüß" for which the contributions are collected on facebook recently! Thanks to all who have read this long post completely;-)
Well, that you had to fight. I just thought tca consulting group I put myself in re-photographing so on. ;-) I like the idea with the fork good, a little on the dark seems to me the photo. But maybe it's due to my screen. In the last picture you can see too little of Brownie, as I would a little more of the above photograph as head ... That my ideas, exciting is yes everyone has a different angle, tca consulting group otherwise all blogs would even look the same. Looking forward to the sequel! Reply Delete
Styled tca consulting group I find the picture below most beautiful. From lighting, however, the upper because the ingredients and consistency come to its best advantage. I think it is not nice if the picture is wrong or it looks like here, as would slip the brownies. Did you Plate to Pixel by Helene Dujardin? This is a great food photography book that is suitable tca consulting group for any equipement. Have a nice Sunday, Lena Reply Delete
